We run dance events and classes in the North West where you can learn and enjoy Modern Jive.

Our aim is to create a great place to dance, with a friendly atmosphere in some of the greatest venues around.

At your disposal are a team of experienced dancers who have been dancing on the modern jive circuit for many years, teaching Beginners and Intermediate dancers alike.

Our experiences on the Modern Jive circuit give us the advantage of providing a great fun night out and adding finishing touches that make any evening with us a memorable one.

What to Expect at Our Classes

Beginner Class: for approximately your first 6-8 weeks

Half an hour of ‘Freestyle'

‘Freestyle' dancing just means the man (or leader) leads the lady (or follower) through a sequence of moves selected randomly by the man. Most people change partners after every track or two so you get plenty of variety.

Improvers/Intermediate Class

You will be taught the basic moves, along with corrective handholds, tension, compression, lead and follow, with beginner and improver moves which may be used in your Modern Jive freestyle.

Second Class for all Beginners

Here we reinforce the moves taught in the Beginner Class earlier in the evening with the help of our experienced crew.

From approx 9.30 - 11pm

It's time to stay on the dance floor and practice what you've learned, enjoy yourself and ‘Freestyle' for the rest of the evening.

We are there and have music from 7.30pm with our Beginner class starting at 8pm followed by the Intermediate class at around 9pm.

Free Tea, Coffee and Cake are provided at Birchfields and dancing goes on until 11pm with fantastic music, sprung dance floor, great seating and a warm welcoming atmosphere.
